Acrylic Course Painting.

This is a painting from a course I am taking at www.learntodo.com. Working from a photo we had to paint an under painting of black, grays and white. Then paint over it. I found it really helped with the lights and shadows and various shades of green in the painting. I also learned I need to spread my color around. I was happy with how it came out. I felt it had more depth and was more interesting to look at then my other paintings.

  1. I like the idea of an underpainting. Looks like you did a great job here. I like the composition and who wouldn't love those purple mountains.

  2. Interesting idea! But most of all, I love the painting, and totally adore those colors you used :) Can't wait to see your next piece Florence and thank you so much for your comments earlier.

  3. I've never tried doing an under painting like that...maybe I should give it a go, I have a empty canvas standing around in my living room at the moment and there's no time like the present;)

Thanks so much for you nice comments on my blog, I'm toying with the idea of selling prints and comments like yours gives me a bit more confidence, also not on Deviant art at this moment:)
